ক্রোম অপারেটিং সিস্টেমকে উইন্ডোজ ও ম্যাকের বড় প্রতিদ্বন্দ্বী হিসেবে দাঁড় করাচ্ছে গুগল পিক্সেলবুক। বলা হচ্ছে এটি নতুন যুগের ল্যাপটপ।
পিক্সেলবুক মূলত লেনোভো ইয়োগার মত ভাঁজ করা যায় এমন ল্যাপটপ ও ট্যাবলেটের মাঝামাঝি ডিভাইস। তবে খুবই পাতলা ডিভাইসটি ভাঁজ করা অবস্থায় ট্যাবলেটের চাইতে অন্যরকম মনে হবে না। পিক্সেলবুকের টাচস্ক্রিনটিতে পিক্সেল পেন ব্যবহারের সুবিধা রয়েছে। টিল্ট ও প্রেসার সেন্সিটিভ পেনটি সারফেস ও আইপ্যাডের পেনের চাইতে অর্ধেক ল্যগে কাজ করতে সক্ষম।
ব্রাউজিং এর ক্ষেত্রে পেনের বা টাচ স্ক্রিনের ব্যবহার না থাকলেও পিক্সেলবুকে থাকছে অ্যান্ড্রয়েড অ্যাপ ব্যবহারের সুবিধা। গুগলের অন্যান্য ডিভাইসের মত এতেও থাকছে গুগল অ্যাসিস্টেন্ট ও ওকে গুগল বলার মাধ্যমে ভয়েস কমান্ড দেয়ার সুযোগ।
সপ্তম প্রজন্মের ইন্টেল কোর আই৫ ও আই৭ প্রসেসর সমৃদ্ধ ল্যাপটপটিতে থাকছে ৮ অথবা ১৬ গিগাবাইট র্যাম। ১২৮ থেকে ৫১২ গিগাবাইট পর্যন্ত এসএসডি ও ১২.৩ ইঞ্চি ২৪০০ x ১৬০০ পিক্সেল রেজুলেশনের ডিসপ্লে। এর কিবোর্ডের সাথের অংশটি কাপড়ে আবৃত রাখা হয়েছে। কি-গুলোর ওপরের অংশও নরম ফিনিশিং দেয়ার ফলে টাইপিং করার সময় হাতের ওপর চাপ কম পড়বে।
তবে সময়ই বলবে অ্যান্ড্রয়েড অ্যাপ চালিত ক্রোমওএস সমৃদ্ধ ল্যাপটপ-ট্যাবলেট হাইব্রিড বাজারে কেমন সারা ফেলে। পিক্সেলবুকের মূল্য ৯৯৯ ডলার থেকে শুরু হবে।
