চীনা সরকারি এই সংস্থাটির সদস্য হিসেবে স্থানীয় ৬৭ জন এবং বিদেশি ১৮ জন বিশেষজ্ঞের নাম ঘোষণা করা হয়েছে। বিদেশি ১৮ জনের মধ্যে একজন হলেন বিল গেটস, বলা হয়েছে ভারতীয় সংবাদমাধ্যম আইএএনএস-এর প্রতিবেদনে।
মাইক্রোসফট সহ-প্রতিষ্ঠাতা এবং প্রযুক্তি খাতের পরিচিত নামের পাশাপাশি টেরাপাওয়ার-এর প্রধান হিসেবে দায়িত্ব পালন করছেন মার্কিন ধনকুবের। টেরাপাওয়ার পারমাণবিক চুল্লি নকশার কাজ করে থাকে।
চীনা সংস্থাটির পক্ষ থেকে বলা হয়, নতুন সদস্য নির্বাচনের মাধ্যমে তারা শীর্ষস্থানীয় বৈশ্বিক অ্যাকাডেমি তৈরির জন্য আন্তর্জাতিক বিনিময় ও সহযোগিতার প্রচারণা চালাবে।
