SriLanka will take e-GP system in Bangladesh

Sri Lanka wants to implement electronic procurement (e-GP) system of Bangladesh in government procurement in their own country.

A high-level team of the country’s procurement commission is now touring Dhaka to look at various aspects of e-GP in Bangladesh.

On Tuesday, they discussed the government’s plans with the concerned ministry. The tourist’s team appreciated Bangladesh’s success in reducing corruption through electronic shopping.

The touring team chief said. Palitha told Iqnayake that Sri Lanka has been planning for a long time to go to e-zip. He said Bangladesh’s activities would make their work very easy.

One thousand 300 organizations of the government of Bangladesh are now shopping, among which 1,168 are registered on Monday by e-zip.

In 2012, Bangladesh has entered into this method of shopping. That year there was 14 tender money worth Tk 24 crore.

Now, the total purchase of government in the e-GP system exceeded one lakh crore taka.

The domestic company Doha Tech has developed this solution to buy the e-GP system.
