Software stolen information!

Researchers at Princeton University said many of the world’s top-notch websites monitor Internet users’ movements.

The software that they monitor through this software gives the name ‘Sensation Response’. Cybersecurity experts question the validity of the use of such software without users.

Through software, websites store information about users’ keyboard presses, mouse movement and scrolling patterns. Not only that, the user submits the information about the pages that the user submits to the third party server.

The page information that is sent to the server can also include user’s medical conditions, credit card details, and other sensitive personal information.

Researchers have published the names of seven firms that have created the ‘Sensation Response’ software. Firms are Full Story, Sensationcam, ClickTell, SmartLock, User Replay, Hotzar, and Yandex.

Each of the 482 websites named in the study uses one of this seven software.

The list includes software companies such as The Telegraph, Reuters, CSB News, Aljazeera, WordPress.com, and Samsung.

Paul Eden, director of the Triware Security Firm, said that if the organizations do not warn users about their activities, then I will call it a lawless action. It is unethical to collect information about the user without knowing it.

However, to avoid this untoward surveillance, users have been advised to use the ad blocking tool, cyber experts. It prevents websites from storing information.
