মাইকেল সেম্যান, পেরু বংশোদ্ভূত ২১ বছরের এক মার্কিন তরুণ। তবে এই অল্প বয়সের অপার সম্ভাবনাময় তরুণকে নিয়ে ইতোমধ্যে কাড়াকাড়ি পড়ে গেছে টেক জায়ান্ট ফেসবুক ও গুগলের মধ্যে। কিন্তু সেম্যান জানিয়েছেন, গুগলের ডাকেই সাড়া দিচ্ছেন তিনি।
জানা গেছে, মাত্র ১৩ বছর বয়সে মোবাইল অ্যাপ তৈরি করেছিলেন তিনি। ইউটিউবে টিউটোরিয়াল ভিডিও রয়েছে তার। এর পরেই তিনি নজরে পড়ে যান ফেসবুকের। ১৭ বছর বয়সে ফেসবুকে ইন্টার্নশিপ করার সুযোগ পেয়েছিলেন মাইকেল। এক বছরের ইন্টার্নশিপের পর স্থায়ী ইঞ্জিনিয়ার হিসাবে কাজে যোগ দেন। তিন বছরের চাকরির পর এখন সেই ফেসবুককেই বিদায় জানাতে চলেছেন মাইকেল। এদিকে প্রতিভাবান মাইকেলকে ছাড়তে নারাজ ফেসবুকও।
গুগলের তরফে জানানো হয়েছে, তাদের নতুন ভয়েস-বেসড সার্ভিস ‘অ্যাসিস্ট্যান্ট’ এ যোগ দেবেন মাইকেল। মাইকেল চাকরিতে যোগ দিলে তিনিই হবেন সংস্থাটির ইতিহাসে কনিষ্ঠতম প্রোডাক্ট ম্যানেজার। এই মুহূর্তে ‘অ্যাসিস্ট্যান্ট’ এর জন্য প্রচুর লোক নিয়োগ করা হচ্ছে গুগলে। মনে করা হচ্ছে, এই মুহূর্তে অ্যামাজন অ্যালেক্সা ও অ্যাপেল সিরির অন্যতম প্রতিপক্ষ এই ‘অ্যাসিস্ট্যান্ট’।
এর আগে ফেসবুকেও প্রোডাক্ট ম্যানেজার হিসাবে কাজ করতেন মাইকেল। তার কাজ ছিল মূলত তরুণ প্রজন্মের ফোন এবং ফেসবুক ব্যবহারের ট্রেন্ডের উপর নজর রাখা। সেই সময় ফেসবুকেরও কনিষ্ঠতম সদস্য ছিলেন তিনি। জানা গেছে, ইন্টার্নশিপের পর মার্ক জাকারবার্গ নিজে দেখা করেছিলেন মাইকেলের সঙ্গে।
