CNG drivers strike to stop sending Uber

Dhaka and Chittagong District CNG Auto-rickshaw Workers Oikya Parishad called for a strike on 8-point demand including stoppage of App-dependent transport service like Uber, Sendai.

The organization announced a month-long program including a strike at a press conference on Wednesday in Dhaka Reporters Unity.

Members of the Dhaka District Committee of the organization, Sakhawat Hossain Dulal, told the press conference that CNG operators will make a strike in Dhaka and Chittagong from November 27 to 48 hours. And if the demands are not fulfilled at this time, the continuous strike will take place from 15 January.

One of the eight-point demand for the CNG Auto Workers’ Oikya Parishad is to stop the use of passenger services, including the Uber, Senda.

On November 22, 2016, started its journey to Dhaka with the taxi service through the app. In about a year, the taxi service in Dhaka has received huge popularity. On Tuesday, Uber launched a passenger transport service on the motorcycle.

In October 2016, officially launch Motorbike service through the app. After that, the service in Jama’s city, Dhaka, was quickly getting popularity. In October this year, they took the service out of Dhaka to Chittagong.

From 1 November, they started to offer car services in Dhaka and Chittagong.
