The hackers confirmed that Uber had stolen personal information of 57 million subscribers and driver.

Although the incident happened a year ago, they kept the matter secret. They paid a million dollars to hackers to delete the information stolen by hacking.

Bloomberg reported that the former CEO of the company knew the events from the beginning of the story of the Cologne hacking.

Hackers stole 57 million (570 million) subscriber’s name, email address, and phone number. The hackers have also captured the names of 6 million drivers and 7,000,000 licensed information as well.

Dara Khashrushahi, the new CEO of the company, said that he did not know the incident beforehand.

Regarding hacking, he said that due to hacking no news of any fraudulent incident has been reported so far. We have been monitoring the damaged accounts. No such thing should have happened and I would not have any excuse for this incident.

On behalf of Uber, two hackers access software data stored on GitHub using software code. After that, downloadable lists of personal information about a large number of customers and drivers scattered around the world.

Uber has dismissed the company’s Chief Security Officer and his assistant this week for keeping hacking in view.

New York’s Attorney General Eric Schneider said to investigate the matter when the matter was found on Tuesday.

In the meantime, a customer case against Uber was also filed against the customers for concealing the facts and protecting information security.
